Ahmadinejad Look-Alikes and Iranian Elections
Fuel for Truth, the self-proclaimed “Special Forces of Israel advocacy,” held a sparsely-attended rally in Times Square yesterday featuring an Ahmadinejad look-alike competition in an apparent effort to convince Iranians to oust their President in today’s elections. The rally featured a DJ, a Green Beret, a rapper, jeweler/donors, and lots of vitriol against what was called the “once-great Persian empire” as well as against the American President. Founder Jonathan Loew read from a flyer handed out to passersby: “The people of the U.S. would be better served by our President if he focused on the threat the illegal Iranian nuclear weapons program poses to our country, instead of telling the Israelis they can’t build playgrounds and schools in towns on the West Bank.” We’ll find out later today whether the spectacle of Jews mocking Iranians in Times Square convinced the Iranians to choose a different path. Here are some photos of the event.
