Sarah Silverman Wins Met Gala Fashion
All the usual suspects were out en force for last night’s Met Gala (the biggest fashion event of the year, for those who don’t follow such things).
The annual ball, which officially launches the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s yearly Costume Institute exhibit, is Hollywood’s chance to show off (in couture), all under the Sauron-esque unblinking eye of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. This year’s theme paid tribute to Charles James, America’s First Couturier.
No punk attire this time. It was all fabulous ball gowns, black and white chic and dramatic Old Hollywood.
Some of our favorite Jewish celebs made an appearance: Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta, Lea Michele in Altuzarra, Diana Agron in Miu Miu, Emmy Rossum in Carolina Herrera — even Lena Dunham was surprisingly put together in a Giambattista Valli strapless number.
But our vote for best dressed goes (hands down) to Sarah Silverman, dressed to kill in a blood red ball gown. NAILED IT.
Which outfit gets your seal of approval?
