You might not expect a 12th-century rabbinic sage to have words of wisdom about Vanity Fair’s viral Caitlyn Jenner cover. And yet, Maimonides delivers — even if some Jews don’t want to listen.
Eliyahu Fink is an unconventional spiritual leader. Help us find others who touch the lives of Jews in profound and unusual ways for this year’s America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis.
Eliyahu Fink is the spiritual leader of Pacific Jewish Center along the Venice boardwalk in California, an Orthodox rabbi who so inspires his eclectic congregation that he was named one of the Forward’s Most Inspiring Rabbis of 2014.
“Our mission is to provide the maximum number of positive Jewish experiences to the maximum number of people,” said Eliyahu Fink, 33, the rabbi of the Pacific Jewish Center in the Venice Beach neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Rabbis Aaron and Eliyahu Fink inspired Forward readers with their Jewish leadership and openness. The father and son also impressed the most important judge of all: grandma.
