The “Zioness” group was ostracized at the Chicago feminist rally — but according to some, they never wanted to fully participate in the first place.
During the rally, when women from the “Zioness” group waved their signs, SlutWalk participants would block them with umbrellas.
A group calling itself the “Zioness Movement” has announced it will be walking in the Chicago Slutwalk, which briefly banned Zionist symbols.
“We are not banning any symbols or any kind of ethnic or heritage flags,” organizer Red S. said.
“Just come with good intentions of participating in a demonstration that’s about supporting survivors of rape culture,” the organizer said.
“We still stand behind Dyke March Chicago’s decision to remove the Zionist contingent from their event, & we won’t allow Zionist displays at ours.”
Hundreds of women in Jerusalem demonstrated against sexism by participating in the capital’s SlutWalk.
