A woman in a new video released by the Islamic State may be the wife of the Islamic terrorist who killed four at a kosher supermarket in Paris.
The video released Tuesday shows an Islamic State fighter praising past attacks on France and calling for more. The woman standing next to the speaker is believed to be Hayat Boumeddiene, the common-law wife of Hyper Cacher attacker Amedy Coulibaly, CNN reported Thursday, citing a source close to the investigation. She is seen wearing combat clothing and holding a rifle.
Titled “Blow up France 2,” the clip was made by French-speaking Islamic State members.
Boumeddiene is believed to be in Syria, according to CNN.
Coulibaly killed four Jewish men and held more than 20 hostages before police broke in and killed him on Jan. 9. The shooting came two days after two gunmen stormed the offices of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, killing 12.
Boumeddiene is wanted for her knowledge of Coulibaly’s attacks; she is also believed to have had a role in the attacks.
