Close to 2,000 people participated in the pro-Trump rally on Aug. 30 in Los Angeles. The rally, which started at Taft High School in Woodland Hills and ended at Jerry’s Famous Deli in Studio City, drew some 600 cars, motorcycles and trucks all decorated with Trump banners and US and Israel flags.

The rally was organized by the Los Angeles Republican Party and members of the Israeli community. It was largely peaceful.

At 11:30 a.m. a call came to 911 from a woman who reported she heard what sounded like a gunshot from a building overlooking Ventura Blvd. Immediately after, she noticed one of her car’s tire was flat. At least two other cars were damaged from what appeared to be beer bottles that were thrown from the apartment building in the 20600 block of Ventura Boulevard. The police officers who were present at the rally searched the building for three suspects who were seen throwing the bottles. One eyewitness reported that a suspect had waved a gun at the cars.

Julie Haff of the LA GOP, who organized the rally along with members of the Israeli community, said while there are many in the Israeli community who support Trump, the Jewish community overall does not. Most participants at the rally were Israelis or Israeli-Americans, but there were also members of the Jewish-American, Iranian, Armenian and Mexican communities.
