Gail Simmons Pregnant With First Child

Gail Simmons has one in the oven — and no, it’s not a batch of cookies.

“Top Chef” judge Gail Simmons is expecting her first child with husband Jeremy Abrams. The baby is due this winter, Simmons’ rep confirmed to People Magazine.

Simmons married Abrams, head of the music programming company Audiostiles in 2008. Their Long Island City wedding was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings.

The 37-year-old is slated as head critic on the new season of Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters,” which premieres next week.

In an 2010 interview with the Forward, Simmons traced back her love of food to her mother, a food writer for The Globe and Mail in the 1970s and 80s, and her Jewish upbringing. “We had Shabbat dinner every Friday night, without fail,” she said. “There was always challah and my mother’s outstanding chicken soup.”
